Summary: The cardiovascular (CV) community needs software tools for managing diverse types of CV data.  These tools must be secure, well-documented and easy to use.  The CV Research Grid (CVRG) serves the needs of basic and clinical researchers by providing seamless, secure access to study datasets and analysis tools.  A lesson learned early on was that the vast majority of CV studies lack IT support, and therefore study sites are not able to install and operate complex software applications on their own. The CVRG has therefore moved towards the Software as a Service approach, delivering powerful data management and analysis tools to our users that are accessed through the web browser.
